When Jake Paul and Tommy Fury meet in their hotly-anticipated boxing match in Saudi Arabia on Sunday, football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is set to be there in person.
Ronaldo enjoyed a brilliant start to the weekend, scoring a first-half hat-trick for new club Al-Nassr against Damac, securing a 3-0 win. That took his Saudi Pro League tally to eight goals in five games.
His plans after that treble are to travel across the country from Khamis Mushait to just outside Riyadh, to take in some boxing.
The celebrity showdown will not be the first time Portugal legend Ronaldo has shown his interest in combat sports, having previously posed with two-weight UFC champion Conor McGregor in an MMA gym.
Broadcaster Piers Morgan, who conducted Ronaldo's infamous interview shortly before he left Premier League giants Manchester United in 2022, appears to have confirmed that the striker will be in attendance.
Here's what we know about Ronaldo's plans to be at Paul vs. Fury and why the icon has been tempted to head to the fight.

Hugely-followed Morgan interviewed Paul as part of his show, 'Piers Morgan Uncensored', on the TalkTV channel.
When Morgan asked the American about Ronaldo's potential attendance, Paul said he had heard the rumours.
Following the broadcast of the interview, Morgan said: “Quick update to the end of that conversation: Cristiano Ronaldo has just told me he is going to the fight on Sunday. And he thinks it’s going to be a great fight, which many people do — so there we are.”

Ronaldo joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr FC in a surprising and lucrative mid-season move following his acrimonious United exit.
The club is based in Riyadh, which is only around a 20-minute drive from the Diriyah Arena where Paul and Fury will fight.
Al-Nassr are not in action again until Friday March 3, having gone top of the Saudi league with the help of Ronaldo's hat-trick on Saturday.
As well as MMA megastar McGregor, Ronaldo has shown his interest in boxing by posing with pugilist stars such as Floyd Mayweather — the most successful fighter of the modern era.
The former Real Madrid top scorer has also socialised with one of McGregor's former arch-rivals: ex-UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

But in an about-face on Feb. 15, the Austin City Council voted to pursue a shorter one-year contract, angering the police union and throwing a wrench in negotiations. The 77 officers who could retire by the end of March eclipse first quarter numbers for prior years. Justin Berry, a current Austin Police Department officer, said that many officers ineligible for retirement may depart the force for other cities. "The City Council fails to understand the gravity of what this means for the general safety of the very community they are responsible for." After throwing out that contract, city council instructed the interim city manager to implement a base pay increase for officers and a signing bonus for new cadets.25 days ago Fox News

Murdoch acknowledged in testimony that some of those hosts, including Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs and Maria Bartiromo, had done more than just give a platform to baseless claims of voter fraud. Murdoch, when asked why he continued to allow MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell to make election fraud claims on Fox News, said it was a business decision. A search of the Fox News website shows Steel did appear on at least one Fox News program: "America's News Headquarters." The documents also show other executives at Fox News growing increasingly concerned about the channel’s handling of election fraud claims in the days after the election. The filing shows that as various Fox News shows, hosts and guests continued to push voter fraud claims, Murdoch fielded messages from other media executives, including some from within Fox Corp., who tried to persuade him to change course.25 days ago Yahoo News

Averaging 118.56 points per game, the Hornets have been sleeping on the defensive side of the ball and need to wake up before the contest. In their win, the Hornets relied heavily on center Mark Williams, who hit a double-double on 20 boards and 18 points.25 days ago 24ssports News - NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA, FOOTBALL

Zero-calorie sweetener erythritol, widely used in sugar replacement or reduced-sugar products, has been linked to an increased risk of cardiovascular events including heart attacks and strokes for older adults consuming high amounts and already at risk of heart disease, according to a new study published Monday. Taylor also suggests looking for other sugar substitutes like Stevia-based sweeteners that are herbal as opposed to artificial. However, the study warns that erythritol is often combined with other sugar substitutes to help add bulk to the sweeteners. Taylor suggests breaking the sugar habit by weaning off sweeteners in everyday snacks and foods or substituting sweetened foods for other options.
