Following last night’s NAACP Image Awards, we’re back with yet another red carpet. Tonight some of the biggest names in film and television gathered in Los Angelos at The Fairmont Century Plaza, to celebrate the bestoutstanding performances in film and prime time television. Stars like Quinta Brunson (in Jean-Louis Sabaji), Jessica Williams (wearing Rosie Assoulin), and Ayo Edebiri (in Emilia Wickstead) showcased the bredth and variety of red carpet dressing.
“Angela Bassett did the thing” and “Viola Davis our woman king,” both radiated in shades of yellow, Bassett in a ruffled Giambattista Valli off the shoulder gown, and Davis in a sleek Valentino gown. As did Niecy Nash, in a pleated Vera Wang gown, also in a shade of canary. Fashion it girl, Sheila Atim held it down for Black designer representation on the carpet, wearing Christopher John Rogers. The look, a maroon bullet bustier, with twisted maxi skirt and oversized shirtdress, paired perfectly with her pinkish-grey hair.

Meek Mill And Jay-Z Link Up With The Ivy League For Criminal Justice Reform
Photo by Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for The Reform AllianceGrammy-nominated artist Meek Mill, born Robert Rihmeek Williams, is no stranger to the criminal justice system. He founded a nonprofit, REFORM Alliance, a year later alongside Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter, Fanatics CEO Michael Rubin, and other prominent leaders in entertainment, business, and philanthropy. The series of papers, “From Supervision to Opportunity: Reimagining Probation and Parole,” also assesses opportunities that can be used by lawmakers and other practice-based stakeholders to improve our justice system. Notably, these academic papers also pave a clear path towards meaningful change in parole and probation policies. We still have a long way to go, but the partnership between REFORM Alliance and Columbia Justice Lab challenges our nation to do better and is a critical step in the right direction.”
