The NBA All-Star Skills Challenge is the first event of All-Star Saturday Night from Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City. The Skills Challenge, which will begin shortly after 8 p.m. ET, precedes the 3-Point Contest and Slam Dunk Contest.
For the second year, the Skills Challenge will feature three teams of three players that take part in a four-round competition. The two teams with the most points through the first three rounds will advance to the finals.
Here is a breakdown of each round:Round 1 — Team Relay
All players from each team participate in a timed relay in which they must complete a course. Each player has 30 seconds to shoot from five different spots that range from 10 to 30 feet from the rim, and players cannot repeat the same shot consecutively.
Shots from each spot have different values, ranging from one through five points. Individual player scores will be added to determine the team score.
The team with the highest score will win Round 1 and earn 100 Challenge Points.Round 2 — Team Passing
Teams will compete one at a time, with each team getting 30 seconds to amass points. All players participate together in a passing competition that sees them complete passes into three oversized moving targets, which vary in size and distance from the players.
Each team is required to make at least one pass attempt at each target, and individual players cannot make consecutive passes at the same target. Completed passes into each target are worth two, four or six points.
The team with the highest score will win Round 2 and earn 100 Challenge Points.Round 3 — Team Relay
All players from each team will participate in a timed relay in which each player must complete the course, consisting of these five skills in order:Throw an outlet pass into a moving target from the baseline Dribble down the court through three moving pylons Make a short shot in the lane Make a 3-pointer from the corner against an automated defender Dribble to the opposite goal and make a basket
The team with the fastest time will win Round 3 and earn 200 Challenge Points.Round 4 — Half-court shot
The two teams with the highest scores from Rounds 1 through 3 will advance to the Final Round. These teams will compete one at a time, and all players on each team will attempt to make a half-court shot.
Team 1 will set the time to beat with a made shot or an expiration of the clock (maximum 90 seconds).
The team that is the fastest to make a half-court shot will win the Skills Challenge. In the event of a tie, the teams will repeat the Final Round.

But in an about-face on Feb. 15, the Austin City Council voted to pursue a shorter one-year contract, angering the police union and throwing a wrench in negotiations. The 77 officers who could retire by the end of March eclipse first quarter numbers for prior years. Justin Berry, a current Austin Police Department officer, said that many officers ineligible for retirement may depart the force for other cities. "The City Council fails to understand the gravity of what this means for the general safety of the very community they are responsible for." After throwing out that contract, city council instructed the interim city manager to implement a base pay increase for officers and a signing bonus for new cadets.25 days ago Fox News

Murdoch acknowledged in testimony that some of those hosts, including Sean Hannity, Lou Dobbs and Maria Bartiromo, had done more than just give a platform to baseless claims of voter fraud. Murdoch, when asked why he continued to allow MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell to make election fraud claims on Fox News, said it was a business decision. A search of the Fox News website shows Steel did appear on at least one Fox News program: "America's News Headquarters." The documents also show other executives at Fox News growing increasingly concerned about the channel’s handling of election fraud claims in the days after the election. The filing shows that as various Fox News shows, hosts and guests continued to push voter fraud claims, Murdoch fielded messages from other media executives, including some from within Fox Corp., who tried to persuade him to change course.25 days ago Yahoo News
Until 0 quarterDespite being underdogs at tipoff, the Detroit Pistons have since taken control of the game. Both teams are capable of winning, but they’re going nowhere against the Charlotte Hornets 3. Detroit relies on shooting guard Rodney McGruder, who has three points, and point guard Killian Hayes, who has zero points. Averaging 118.56 points per game, the Hornets have been sleeping on the defensive side of the ball and need to wake up before the contest. In their win, the Hornets relied heavily on center Mark Williams, who hit a double-double on 20 boards and 18 points.25 days ago 24ssports News - NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA, FOOTBALL

Zero-calorie sweetener erythritol, widely used in sugar replacement or reduced-sugar products, has been linked to an increased risk of cardiovascular events including heart attacks and strokes for older adults consuming high amounts and already at risk of heart disease, according to a new study published Monday. Taylor also suggests looking for other sugar substitutes like Stevia-based sweeteners that are herbal as opposed to artificial. However, the study warns that erythritol is often combined with other sugar substitutes to help add bulk to the sweeteners. Taylor suggests breaking the sugar habit by weaning off sweeteners in everyday snacks and foods or substituting sweetened foods for other options.
