LeBron James is currently out with an adductor injury he suffered earlier this month.

The 18-time All-Star has missed the last five games and apparently being sidelined is starting to get to him.

During the Lakers’ screening against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night, James was seen practicing his shooting during the break.

What caught the most attention was the funky jacket he wore while watching his team play from the bench.

The jacket evolved beyond a fashion trend into a symbol of defense, as just about every shot James attempted while wearing it failed to reach the basket. LeBron wasn’t able to make too many shots in about 40 seconds.

As a result, a video broke on Twitter of LeBron’s shooting, but someone dubbed it with some fancy circus music to denote the comedy misfires.

Many attribute James’ unlucky shot to his jacket. Watching LeBron James miss so many shots in his funky jacket is quickly becoming a meme.

A video shared with Overtime on Twitter perfectly documents the meme-like actions.

A story of LeBron James turning into memes

LeBron James lies

The most recent comedic moment for James was his recollection of Kobe Bryant’s 81-point performance. Audiences watch this video like James is lying, or at least exaggerating. People are now using James’ face in this video as a meme for statements of pure over-the-top comedy.

The original video can be seen below.

As a result of the video, the memes that have been created range from predicting absurd basketball performances to examples from world history.

For example, one of the most popular interpretations concerns the Titanic.

“I remember the morning the Titanic left England, I was supposed to be on that ship. They called it unsinkable but I had a bad feeling”

“I remember the morning the Titanic left England, I was supposed to be on that ship. They called it unsinkable but I had a bad feeling” James and Reaves as Iron Man and Spider-Man

Last season, LeBron was managing Austin Reaves and trying to explain something to him. Reaves’ reaction in the conversation instantly turned into a meme.

The original video was posted by Bleacher Report.

This time, LeBron took the reins of promoting the meme and posted it on his own Instagram.

James takes a quote from the movie Spider-Man Homecoming and uses it for his caption:

“Don’t do anything I would do. And above all, don’t do anything that I wouldn’t do. There’s a little gray area in there and that’s where you operate.

In the movie, Tony Stark, Iron Man, says this to his young protege, Spider-Man. A situation James found similar with him and Reaves.

Protective glasses

Last season, during a game between the Lakers and the Orlando Magic, Dwight Howard tried to stop a ball from going out of bounds. Howard ended up kicking the ball in Wendell Carter Jr.’s face, knocking his glasses off.

LeBron then picked them up, placed them on his face, and balanced them there, resulting in “LeGoggles”.

Throughout LeBron James’ career, many comedic moments have become memes. These are just a few of the many times James has added a bit of comedy to his acting.

The most recent occasion, however, seems to be more of an attack on him. This jacket could be a bad omen.
