Patrón Tequila elevates the cocktail fixture 
As one of the world’s most popular cocktails, the margarita has become a fixture in the cocktail world whether it’s enjoyed on a night out or at home. Margaritas are enjoyed by many drinkers because of its refreshing finish and delicious notes. This spirit usually contains three essential ingredients – tequila, orange liqueur, and citrus juice, but can also include other ingredients to give the classic recipe a twist such as sweet fruits, other souring agents, some spiced, and bitters to fit one’s preferences and elevate the experience. Classic Margaritas are usually shaken and served either straight up in a coupe glass with salt on the rim or blended with ice and served frozen.
The margarita takes its name from the Spanish word for ‘daisy,’ and traces its origins in the 1930s in Mexico. Iowa newspaper editor James Graham wrote about finding the recipe for the cocktail in Tijuana, Mexico. Worldwide, Margarita Day is celebrated every Feb. 22. The Classic Margarita is made more enjoyable using Patrón Silver which is refreshing and crisp. This is may be enjoyed on its own or best paired with Mexican food and Filipino dishes like fried like crispy pata and fried fish.
Classic Patron Margarita
45ml – Patrón Silver
30ml – Orange liquor
25ml – Fresh lime juice
7.5ml – simple syrup
Salt optional + Lime wedge for garnish
A twist to the classic Margarita is making it frozen, especially here in the Philippines where our weather is warm it is surely made more enjoyable, adding fruits also gives it a tropical flair making it best enjoyed on summer get togethers or paired with rich and saucy dishes with coconut milk like curries and pininyahang manok.
Frozen Strawberry Patrón Margarita
50ml – Patrón Silver
30ml – Lime Juice/concentrate
1 bar / 2 cups – Frozen strawberry fruit bar or frozen strawberries
30ml- Agave nectar
Blend all ingredients together
The margarita can also get a uniquely Filipino twist by using local and indigenous ingredients. Here in the Philippines where the calamansi is our local and readily available citrus fruit, one can replace the lime juice with the calamansi juice to give it a uniquely Filipino twist. This recipe pairs well with a lot of local dishes like adobo, kare-kare, and other savory dishes.
Calamansi Patrón Margarita
45ml – Patrón Silver
30ml – Orange liquor
25ml – Fresh calamansi Juice
7.5ml – simple syrup
Salt optional + sliced calamansi for garnish
